Bishop Toohey Meets the Chief Rabbi

As part of his UK tour in support of Sound of Many Waters Bishop Chris Toohey has met with the Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks in London.

Sir Sacks was delighted to hear of the innovative Sound of Many Waters programme, raising awareness of environment concerns with the Catholic Church.

During his visit to this country Bishop Toohey has already talked with Cardinals Cormac Murphy-O’Connor of Westminster and Keith O’Brien, Archbishop of St Andrews and Edinburgh; Archbishop Mario Conti, of Glasgow; Archbishop Patrick Kelly of Liverpool; and the Anglican bishops Richard Chartres of London and James Jones of Liverpool. There will also be visits to the Benedictine communities at Downside and Ampleforth as well as a public event in St Marie’s Cathedral in the Hallam Diocese.

Bishop Toohey then heads west when he helps to launch Sound of Many Waters in Clifton Cathedral, Bristol at 6.00 pm on Saturday September, 29.
